As Settlers expanded into the outer regions, many strange creatures were discovered. A whole new ecology had to be adapted to the UNC lifestyle. While the colonists could plant the stored gen-crops, that would require time and the food stores of the Star of Hope would not last that long.
Initial research discovered 2 abundant food sources. The razor tomato, a cactus analogue, with a sweet flavoured bulb and razor sharp leaves, and the Kowhinaga, a large hooved reptile analogue that massed in great heards on the praries of Nevada. Other food sources were found and eventually earth food sources were constituted, but the razor tomato and the 'Kow' became staples of the UNC diet.
Earth Food Sources -
Pork (initally from cloned pig stocks), Oats, Wheat, Maize
Nevadan Food Sources -
Kowhinaga, Razor Tomatos, Jubroots, Loma, Dirkfruit.
Chickens were initally cloned as a food source, but they were so activley hunted by the native Skavver lizard that chicken startups were plagued by the pest lizard. Eventually chicken stocks were no longer able to be replenished.

Under the Twin Suns - part II
Despite the creation of a Government and the establishment of the colonies, the UNC is a lawless place. Initally the goverment tried to maintain a standing army, but there was little they could do, often becoming too spread out to be effective, the UNC military eventually dwindled. Corporate interests usually maintained their own security and so didn't notice the changes.
The outer edges of the colonies were still suffering bandit raids and falling prey to miscreants of all types. As a solution the Govener established the Nevadan Marshal Service. Through some deft political and strategic maneuvering, the Marshals were more effective at singling out the bad elements and tenacius enough to bluff the rest into standing down. Individual marshals were something to be feared.
Currently there are 22 sworn in marshals and just as many deputised recruits. The NMS has a linked computer network and each Marshal is in contact with the rest. They dont have a set uniform, aside from their star, and tend to be quite unique. Vehicles of choice range from 4WD buggies to Hovercycles to the more esoteric Robot Horse, like East Counties Marshal Tate.

Under the Twin Suns - part I
Planet Nevada has been settled for 45 years. Its colonists arrived on a sleeper ship known as the "Star of Hope" which had suffered damage on its journey and had to be subjected to a controlled crash landing.
The survivors all set about building a life for themselves, soon organizing themself into several colonies each exploring the regions of the planet.
Nevada is a dry world that orbits a brown dwarf star which in turn orbits a yellow sun. having only 30% surface water and large tracts of desert. The Star of hope was lucky enough to land on the edge of Nevadas largest body of water which the colonists called The Sea of Hope, and the city that grew next to it Hope city.
Hope city became the seat of a new nation, the unified colonists settled quicky under the flag of the United Nevadan Colonies, the UNC.

Mag-Lev Train 513
Created by the U.N.C as a means of keeping the various Nevadan colonies connnected, the Mag-Lev Train is the quickest (and safest) way to travel.
Traveling on route from Nevadan capital "Hope City" the Mag-Lev Train does reach the small town of Mudslide via Crystal Valley and Bakersford.
the texture is a little basic i will hope to improve very soon

Gideon Hoverbikes K22 "Thunderbird"
Here it is, fresh off the assembly line (and still Unpainted) the latest taste of freedom from Gideon Hover.
With a vector compress able to hold the bike up in up to 2G environments and propel the bike at a fantastic 260 kph the "Thunderbird" is as comfortable a touring bike as one could wish for.
